Harris Sorting & Picker House c. 1830s/1860s<<Prev. Next>>![]() This pair of abutting structures are mill support buildings erected by Milan Harris & Co. The sorting house, the northernmost section, is a rectangular, 2-story, gable-roofed, five-bay building that probably dates from shortly after the construction of the Harris Mill. It has eight-over-twelve sash windows and, like other contemporary buildings, has wooden eaves. The adjoining and slightly taller picker house was built later, probably about 1867. It is a square, gable-roofed, three-bay edifice. Its twelve-over-eight sashes are capped with granite lintels, and its eaves are brick. Owned by Historic Harrisville, Inc. |
